La Garenne Colombes, 18 octobre 2011. ip-label, a neutral and independent institute measuring the perceived quality of digital services, today announced its acquisition of all shares in SiteScanner, thus reinforcing its position as European frontrunner in the measurement of the perceived quality of applications and digital services (QoE: quality of experience).
After Auditec, acquired in 2008, now SiteScanner, the leader in the measurement of perceptual quality in Scandinavia, headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, with a subsidiary in Helsinki, Finland, is bringing to the group over 200 new customers in a region that seamlessly completes ip-label’s geographical coverage Europe-wide.
The geographical strategy is clear: to strengthen the position of the leader in continental Europe with sales offices in Paris, Amsterdam, Madrid, Stockholm, and Helsinki. A network of 25 partners covering nearly every European country that has reached maturity in terms of QoE issues completes this coverage. After the induction phase, the Helsinki platform, traditionally close to the Baltic States and Russia, will enable an advance into those markets. With its Asian affiliate based in Shanghai, a partner in California, and a technical unit in Tunis, ip-label’s sights are resolutely set on a follow-the-Sun approach.
Very similar offerings make teaming up an obvious outcome
Alongside consultancy services (load testing, benchmarks, and implementation assistance), the ip-label group offers 3 complementary QoE measurement solutions in the domains of data, voice, image, and mobile.
- Cloud Observer, a passive monitoring solution that demonstrates the performance actually experienced by 100% of real users, whatever the usage context (terminal, browser, OS, geographical location worldwide, etc.),
- Newtest, an active monitoring solution delivered in license mode, offers enterprises the possibility of managing their own private measurement network. Today over 3500 Newtest robots are operating the world over,
- Datametrie, an active monitoring solution in SaaS mode which relies on a worldwide network consisting of over 80 measurement points.

A well-defined acquisition plan
SiteScanner’s technical and sales teams were trained on ip-label offerings and tools over the summer of 2011. Priority is being placed on the setup of Datametrie measurement points throughout the whole of Scandinavia so that the customers of the entire group can benefit from one of the largest shared measurement networks in the world. Next, each SiteScanner customer will receive assistance with the migration process by specialists from the two companies.
Customer care, technical and sales assistance, of Scandinavian customers will be provided by the teams based in Stockholm and Helsinki.
